Look out world- here I come!

Maylie is now 15 months and is walking like a pro... well, maybe more like a drunken sailor. But she does prefer to walk and not crawl and is very, very proud of herself. She has a small assortment of words; “Papa, Mama, ball, cra-ca (cracker)” and today she said, “yeah!” a couple of times when I asked her if she wanted a “cra-ca”. I’d like to turn it into a “yes” because she’s starting to sound a little German and it just doesn’t seem to work for her. She can sign “more” and is able to express herself quite readily when words fail her with screams, shouts, points, and grunts. She is also a natural tease and Elijah, of course, is her obvious target. She’s discovered most of his hot buttons and pushes them regularly. She loves it when he plays “hide” with her and “crawl under the desk” and “how far can we swing the johnny-jump-up with you in it”. (We’ve had to squelch that one - much to both of their disappointment)

A few weeks ago, we were able to get together with a couple other families who adopted from China, along with their girls.



Aside from playing X-Box Elijah loves to draw and is very detailed in his art. Today it was a very elaborate angel, a green and gold Packer angel mind you.

Doug and I have been busy with an event at church (mostly Doug) called “A Maze of Grace”. Hard to explain but as you walk through different rooms, or stations, you see/experience different parts of “His story”- creation, the exodus, the cross, the persecuted church throughout the world, just to name a few. It was very well received- I think over 200 people walked through it – and the evening ended with an extended worship night. After much clean up, he can now take a breath! (that is until tomorrow morning ;) )
