We’ll, after 26 hours of nonstop travel....we’re back! Thank you all so much for your prayers!

Maylie did AMAZING on the 14 hr. plane trip back – she fussed maybe twice and slept for a total of about 4 ~ 4.5 hr.s during the flight!

We were able to connect with my (Doug's) parents for about an hour in O’Hare which was a thrill for all of us. Immigration, baggage claim and customs all went surprisingly smooth.

We had one delay, but it was on our final flight home – so we arrived a bit later than expected in Wausau, but safe.

When we rounded the corner in the Central Wisconsin Airport, Elijah came running to us and we dropped to our knees and gave him huge hugs!

He has been a GREAT big brother so far – wanting to help feed Maylie, holding her and giving her little kisses. He’s not so thrilled when she cries ("Ugh! Can’t she just stop?") or when she makes little peeps ("Mom, Maylie’s crying – do something!" "No, honey, she’s just making little noises – all babies make noises")

Please continue to pray for us as we all make this huge transition to a family of 4 and life on North American time. Maylie doesn’t really get to sleep until around 3 or 4 AM and we’re still fighting jet lag and I (Doug) have a nasty head cold and sore throat.

We were hoping to make it to church on Sunday, but Maylie idn't get up until 10:10 AM, and there's no way we could have rushed the family to get ready in 20 minutes.

We did, however, get to stop in for a little time with our small group on Sunday night. Thanks friends for praying for us during our trip and again that night. It was fun to begin to share our joy and our daughter with people we love back home.

Thanks Mom and Dad Folz for watching Elijah, picking us up and getting us dinner on Saturday and again then Sunday and helping us get our van running again!!

Thank you all again for your encouragement, your anonymous financial support, your prayers, your fun comments (and now the "meals for new moms") as we went on this journey. Though I guess in reality the journey has just begun.

And thank You, Lord Jesus for this precious little girl you've entrusted to us.

p.p.s. - I had to stop myself a couple times from referring to Maylie as my "little angel". I know people think it's 'cute' - but really what she is so much better. See, you and I, we human beings, we are created in the image of God. (Genesis 1:26-27) The angels, while Scripturally terrifying and magnificent creations, are not.
